RF-ISight
The APREL RF-ISight software application is designed to process experimental data from the near-field assessment of ICs, PCBs, mobile devices, antennas, and electronic assemblies. This software evaluates complex field interference, signal and power integrity, reactive energy, stochastic waves, backscattering, Poynting vector, and phase. It is developed to identify weaknesses in a design that may lead to issues related to power integrity, signal integrity, EMC, and MPE.
Built to read data files from the EM-ISight automated near-field scanning system, the RF-ISight application transforms measurement files into a complex electromagnetic field format. The solution includes an export tool to support HFSS format, enabling further analysis using simulation software such as ANSYS. It can be used to detect faults during and after the development and integration of an electronic device.
The latest release of the RF-ISight software application can now provide real and imaginary data related to the measurements executed.

Active Phase Assessment
APREL is pleased to announce the release of the Active Phase Measurement Application, now available as part of the Multi-Span Software upgrade. This new capability allows for the assessment of fundamental fields associated with dynamic active phases generated by clock or data signals, paving the way for advanced evaluation of complex integrated circuits and PCB layouts.
By analyzing an active circuit operating in a predefined mode, the application enables real-time acquisition of decoupled Electric or Magnetic fields associated with the functional circuit. It also provides detailed insights into the phase, magnitude, and spatial location of the dynamic phase front.
With the integration of a new phase-balanced contact probe alongside existing Exy or Hxy probes, design engineers can generate heat maps to visualize dynamic phase fronts and signal directions. This capability helps optimize and enhance circuit design, improving power budgets and resolving signal integrity issues to achieve greater signal throughput.
Additionally, this module allows engineers to refine legacy designs of existing products, reducing development time and improving the efficiency of applying established designs.

EM-ISight Side Channel Attack Measurement Upgrade
APREL announces a software upgrade to enhance the EMS software module, designed to evaluate the resilience of security and cryptologic circuits against Radio Frequency (RF) side-channel attacks. Addressing this emerging defense frontier, the upgrade focuses on protecting sensitive electronics from potential threats posed by bad actors.
The system utilizes an electromagnetic Ez probe to expose circuits to complex signals while the EM-ISight software monitors the responses of data lanes or voltages in areas of concern. By measuring changes in impedance, the system can identify vulnerabilities within circuit designs, enabling engineers to implement measures that mitigate RF attacks.
This upgrade supports methodologies outlined in the following publications:
-
NIST SP 800-57 Part 1
-
ISO/IEC 17825:2024
